    1. [LAN] James HUNTER from Manchester?
    2. Hello everyone. I am new to this list and hoping someone can help me solve a puzzle. My gr-gr-grandfather was a man called JAMES HUNTER. I believe he was born in Manchester around 1842. At some stage, he travelled to Australia (possibly with his brother and other family), and ended up living around Melbourne in Victoria. He was there in the early 1880's. Family anecdotes say he was a clever man - a storekeeper and a talented cook. I am desperate to know anything else about him and of his family back in England. I have no parents names, birth or death dates, and unfortunately he has a reasonably common name. However, he may have some connection to a younger man called Christopher HUNTER who was also in Melbourne circa 1895-1905 and may have been a nephew? If anyone has this man in their family tree or can assist me with any information, I would be most appreciative. Thanks, Beth (in Auckland)
