Hi there, Would someone be able to help me help others. I am looking for a REV. JAMES POWER (b. 1805 Ireland - d. 1852 Crossen, Lancs. He married in 1841 in Liverpool, Bachelor, full age. Father was William Power, Music Seller, wife Sarah Bromfield) and REV. CHRISTOPHER BARROW (b. 1776 Barbados d. Bath Somerset 1865.) - Both Anglican I believe. However there is a possibility of Church of Ireland for James Power. Trying to link these men at some time during their lives, perhaps wherever James Power studied for the Ministry. REASON - JOSEPH POWER born abt. 1826 either Hampshire or Lancashire, stated parents REV. JAMES POWER and CATHERINE. Two of his children include these Christian names. The family history via Joseph Power, comes to Australia in 1856 on the Washington Irving as crew, he is aged 30 yrs. His ship entry record is very hard to decipher whether Hampshire or Lancashire born. His MI states born abt. 1827. A Joseph Power aged 19 yrs., was living with Rev. Christopher Barrow in Leamington Priors in 1841. No other Census clue that I can find. I have been unable to find any other JAMES POWER, Clerk of the right age to be Father of said JOSEPH POWER. The family has searched trying to find JOSEPH's parents without proven success. If anyone can find said REV. JAMES POWER of the age to have fathered said JOSEPH POWER 1826/7, perhaps in a Clergy listing.............a real mystery, TIA Cheers, Robyn --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus

Thanks John, I had forgotten this database, but unfortunately I couldn't find any mention of a Rev. James Power. I remember when trying to find clerical evidence of my own Adam Tristram, who was described as Clerk in Holy Order, born Ireland, by his children, here was nothing ever found, except him being a teacher at various Irish schools before arriving in Lancashire.
