Thank you all for the help you're giving me. My Gt Uncle was James Holden born c1883 to William and Alice Holden. I dont even know if he was in WW2 but can find no trace of him after 1901 so was trying to see if he was in the great war. The records I want from WW2 I will request through the site you gave me, many thanks. I dont have the service numbers but do have the dates of birth. Once again thanks for all your help. Kathy

Dear Kathy/Samuel, If your Great Uncle James Holden was born in 1883, he would already have been 31 at the start of WW1. He is unlikely to have been involved in WW2 especially.
