I am tracing the Sephtons of Ormskirk, Foleshill and Tamworth and have got totally stuck on which Ann Sephton is mother to James Sephton ( 1786-1852). (James is father to Francis (1823-1892), father to Frederick 1845-1898), father to Alfred (1895-1953), father to Dorothy - who is my mother-in-law) James is baptised with no father's name in Ormskirk in 1786 and I've come across what may several other children base also born to an Ann Sephton in 1779 & 1781. I have 4 possible sets of parents for Ann - 1757 Thomas & Jane, 1769 Richard & Mary, 1763 John & Ann and 1761 William & Ann James is in Foleshill by 1906 and goes on to have a son named John which leads me to think Ann's parents may be John & Ann Sephton ??
