In case you are unfamiliar with the area you may like to know that Cheadle was (before changes in county boundaries) in north Cheshire and shared a boundary with Lancashire (at the River Mersey). The same boundary is now the boundary between Cheadle (now part of Stockport) and Manchester. Cheadle is about 7 miles from the centre of Manchester.
