Edward the father and his one year old son Richard returned to Crofton and Edward remarried but had no more children. Richard had a financially successful life but with his own sadnesses. One of his two children died very young, he divorced his wife in 1875 after just four years of marriage and she kept the daughter (even though she was the guilty party according to the records on Ancestry) He went through several court cases, lost a lot of money and died quite young himself. He has a large tombstone in the graveyard of Crofton church but his widow remarried so is buried elsewhere. I would really appreciate a photo of Jane,s grave, if it is findable of course - I've searched for enough myself to realise what a hopeless task it can often be.There's always the possibility of a little extra snippet of information in an inscription though.
