Author: sylviacronin1956 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.england.lan.general/52335.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: hi again ,im no further with my George Clarke , my George was married to a mary holloran -so unless he divorced her ,this George cant be mine ,my George last address was 20 Cromwell street widnes ,that was in 1874 ---his wife mary gave birth in 1877 to my grandfather james Clarke,this was in union workhouse whiston -- there was no fathers name on my grandfathers birth certificate ---and I cannot find him anywhere --- I know he was alive in 1874 and he is recorded as dead in 1880 on another sons death certificate -the other son died in union workhouse also-so I believe mary went in to give birth as she had no means of supporting herself ,if George was alive but had left her would the workhouse not have accepted her in -as it would have been her husbands duty to support her -she and the children were still there in 1881 any help so much appreciated thank you ---also I have this death certificate for a George Clarke but its signed by sarah ann clinscow neibour -present at the d! eath ---can you help in any way ,silv x Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
