It was certainly possible to marry elsewhere than in your home parish - the priest in the officiating parish may have required proof of baptism in the catholic faith though, either in the form of a certificate, or written confirmation form the home parish priest. And o pre-1837, the marriage would have been required to take place in an Anglican church (probably with another catholic ceremony as well) anyway.
