Actually, son Joseph's marriage cert has his dad as an Insurance Agent. Must be the same family. I have only been able to trace one Joseph with parents Joseph and Mary, which is Mary Jane Ross. Since they were married in 1855 Liverpool, I can not trace them on 1861 census. Working backwards, family info on their marriage certificate details Samuel Ellis, Clothier and Andrew Lyle Ross , foreman in factory. Have no idea where they orginated from.
