My Grandfather worked at the hospital from about 1938 for about 15 years, but not in a medical post. He was the foreman of the works department at the colony, having served his time first as a plumber. I remember as a child he told me that many of the 'inmates' were particular friends of his, working in the hospital brought him into contact with them regularly. One patient in particular made him a marquetry picture that I still have to this day. I know this has nothing to do with your own research, but sometime it is nice to know that other people have interests which overlap yours.
