There are a couple of Carter graves, but I cannot connect one of them to the family you have written about. Checked the registers with Eileen Rogers, and although some Carters deaths are recorded in the parish registers, it does not necessarily mean they are buried in the churchyard. I did find a stone which had another family name on of Pownall, and on the top of the headstone reads "the burial place of Henry Carter", but no indication as to a date. I will have to revisit the churchyard when it gets a little warmer as there is a large stone (laid on the ground approx. 4' x 6'), and is in one of the oldest and overgrown parts. I will have to investigate further for you which means removing some of the overgrown weeds in an effort to decipher the names. If the family members are not in the churchyard, they would almost certainly have been buried in Toxteth Park Cemetery or in Anfield Cemetery if there was a family gr! ave there already. Sorry not to have been able to give you something definite at this time. Sue Thompson, Liverpool Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
