It's interesting that he would have wives with similar names, but then, my grandfather and his brother both married women named Maud and Maude ( one with the "e" and one without ) and both married in 1909. Come to think of it, I was reading some old letters written by my grandfather recently, and I came across a reference to an Ellen Hunter having passed away. I'll dig it up and take a closer look. Seems he may have known about her, although the name on the grave is definitely Eleanor Hunter, so we likely have two spouses for William Leyland Hunter. I never did have a maiden name for Eleanor, nor do I for this Ellen Hunter either. It might explain the William L Hunter attending at Eleanor's death in 1924, but I wonder why he would be there, as it would not have been his mother? By the way...you seem to be able access more info than I can through Ancestry. I have a World membership but you appear to be able to get better details. Maybe I just don't know how to use it all that well. I bought the Family Tree 2014 that syncs with it, but the interface is way different from the Ancestry on-line version, so I'm really struggling with it.
