John married Elizabeth Lyall on 25 Jnauary 1856 in Kinnaird Street, Pulteneytown, Wick. After having a couple of children in Wick, John, who was a mason by trade, moved with his wife to the Liverpool area and I have tracked the family as far as 1891. In 1871 and 1881 the family were living at 23 Fielding Street in Liverpool, and in 1891 they were living at 126 Holt Road, Liverpool. On the census records John was variously described as a mason, stone mason and builder, and as a building contractor. John and Elizabeth had four children that I know of:- Catherine (1856), Kenneth (1859), Elizabeth Ellen Mary (c1866), and Margaret Ann Jessie (c1869). John Miller was a brother of my direct ancestor, Christina Miller (1828-1906), and I was hoping that someone else is researching the same family. After having researched my direct line ancestors, I have now been trying to find what happened to each of the branches of the family. There seem to be many who moved out of Caithness, Scotland, and some of them chose England to move to. If anyone has an interest in the same family I would welcome any contact, and I am more than willing to share information.
