I have a copy of his death cert. showing he died aged 75 at Whiston hospital in March 1956 (Charles Walker). Also have his marriage cert. but he put his name as James and appears to have taken about 10 years off his age (presumably because of a large age gap?) Marriage cert. states his father was a farmer called William, but I have no idea if this is true. Censuses and birth records are no help as the name is too common, and I have no idea where he was from. Medical records cannot be released for 100 years so they are no help.
