That makes Tom Fox my great great uncle! I was born in 1956 by which time both of them had died so I never met either of them. I am currently working with the Save The Futurist group in Scarborough - Will Catlin built The Futurist, he also built a similar theatre in Llandudno. The Save The Futurist group have got a Facebook page where they are posting information about their struggle to save the theatre from demolition by Scarborough Council. Will Catlin (Fox) was born in 1872 and married Ada Elizabeth Freer - they had six children: Emily Ada, Gladys Elizabeth, Florence May, Rose Beatrice, William Herbert and Jessie. My grandmother was Emily Ada, she married Harry Scriminger who was born in Leeds. Catlin died in Llandudno aged eighty five. The Save The Futurist group are anxious to find out more information about Will's brother Tom (Thomas Alfred Fox) - we have a copy of his death certificate and know that he died in Scarborough in 1923 aged thirty nine but there is no record of him being buried in Scarborough. If you can help us in any way that would be wonderful!!! I don't think he was married. Another brother Arthur Frederick Fox was married in Scarborough Register Office in 1911 to Jessie Edith Cox - Jessie was from Scarborough and her father was an NER ticket collector! I think that Arthur and Jessie had a daughter called Lucy. Will and Tom had lots of other brothers and sisters - one of whom presumably would have been either your Grandmother or Grandfather. I have lots of family information and photographs that I would be more than happy to share with you! Regards .... Jane Smith (Scriminger) Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
