My gr-grandfather John Henry Yates, was born 07 Oct 1838 , supposedly in Preston. His father was stated to be a merchant. Could there be any connection between Thomas and John Henry? Do you know Thomas's parents names ? John Henry married in Australia in 1868. He says his parents names (this is from his marriahe certificate) were John Yates and Mary Burtin.
