I don't think we have the right facts/people here Jim. Ann Gray my gt aunt, was born 1880. Therefore if she did marry Abraham Ashcroft in 1901, she would have been age only 21, not 38. As you say if this was my Ann Gray was now a Melling on marrying Abraham, she had married very young the first time round. I recently found my first living relative, a young lady in Cambridge who is my second cousin, once removed. My only blood relatives are one family who live in Burnley.
