    3. A LIVERPOOL PAPER reports the death from scarlet fever, of MR. HUGH JONES GLADSTONE, the second surviving son of MR. ROBERTSON GLADSTONE, and nephew of the ex-Premier. The deceased gentleman, who was born in May, 1843, has long been associated with athletics in that neighbourhood and his manly figure was seldom missed at local contests. WILLIAM POWELL, cabinet maker, of Manchester, has been charged with leaving a child of his to become chargeable to the parish of Birmingham since last April last. Detective DANIELS apprehended the prisoner in Manchester, where he was earning good wages. This was the third time the prisoner had been similarly charged.
