    1. [LAN] John PRESCOTT Ormskirk Workhouse on Wigan Road 1871

    3. Hi everyone. I was wondering if SKS who visits the Record Office in Preston could look something up for me please. My great, great grandmother, Ann Prescott, died in childbirth on 25 Nov 1865 in Haskayne. (I can find no record of the birth or burial of a child, so am assuming that Ann died before the child was delivered?) Her husband died 8 Sep 1866 in Haskayne. In 1871, I find an 8 year old John Prescott, in the Ormskirk Workhouse, who would appear to be their youngest son (born 18 Jan 1864). Would some kind person please check the Workhouse records at Preston for any record of John PRESCOTT. I think his date of entry and date of discharge should be in the records. There may also be further details on him other than dates. While he is the only family member present at the time of the 1871 census, I wonder if any of his siblings might also have been inmaytes there, but discharged prior to 1871. Siblings include: Elizabeth (b. 1862), Richard (b. 1858), Mary (b. 1856), Ann (b. 1854), Ellen (b. 1852), as well as three older children. Any help on this would be much appreciated.
