HI Everyone I’m trying to find out where a couple of rellies maybe buried in the Rochdale area. James BRIERCLIFFE was living at 10 Spath Bottoms Rd. Castleton Rochdale on the 1891 Census and he died in 1897 also his wife Alice BRIERCLIFFE died in 1895. Would like to know where any of the family are buried in this area please. Kind regards Dianna
It would seem, from the plethora of modern equivalents, that your nearest bet would be St. Mary's in the Baum. Or, you might ask at the Salvation Army (good historical knowledge in some places and there Is a local centre in that area). The Municipal Cemetery in Rochdale had opened in 1855, so it is possible your ancestors were buried there. There are some individual burial details on Internment.net - although it's a work in progress site. http://www.interment.net/data/eng/lancashire/rochdale/rochdale.htm regards June HI Everyone I’m trying to find out where a couple of rellies maybe buried in the Rochdale area.
