    3. I am under the impression the membership is declining based on the number of letter queries I see posted. Some members says its because programs such as Ancestry.com or others give the members what they need. But my recent query could not be answered until I posted a query to our list. Think about it, you ask a question and a  lot of our wonderful members come out with all sorts of new ways to approach a subject. None of the other programs do this or responds almost with lightening speed. In addition, I enjoy looking at the numerous queries posted or if I am lucky some might ask me for a street location. Along with my cup of coffee its one of my favourite pastimes. Please do suggest when talking about family history research to friends who might be new to this hobby, that they subscribe (for free) to our local Rootsweb list. All my best, Mike Morris Toronto Canada

    3. So Mike—I just found out I need two obituaries from Toronto. Since this is my first voyage into Canada, can you tell me if there’s an easy way to find and request these obits? 3. Thank you for saying this Mike from Toronto, joining a list like this is so useful and something I always recomend. The list has a real community feel. You have helped me in the past as have other members. There are many lurkers like me, whose lives have got in the way of research, but who still enjoy reading the questions and the answers, where we often learn new things. Nan Bailey Australia

    3. Mike, I've chalked up some of my best genealogical relationships on these lists. I always suggest them to newbies as well as seasoned researchers who aren't already familiar with them. And coffee certainly enhances the searching.....
