    3. Hope you don't mind. I have changed the subject title. While doing a Google search for Moss Side I did come across a Hall or building named Moss Side in Scotland. It was being sold for over a million pounds. Its an old building. Moss-side Hall of Boquhapple, Thornhill, Stirling, Stirlingshire Maybe this is your Moss Side connection. Do a Google search for it. I did look at genuki and was surprised at so many Moss Sides. My relatives were Mariners so I think I should have a closer look at the Moss Side of Ulverston as per Mike's email. It never seemed feasible that there could have been a Moss Side family name but as Mike suggests it could have been from several previous generations which in turn may lead to a slightly different spelling. The paternal side of the family came from Scotland to Ulverston about 1816 which could toss many more options into the mix. Interestingly enough the only reason I found this branch of my family was through my uncle's middle name of Pernie. At that time nobody in the family knew the significance off for it but with a little research I was able to find my Ulverston connection. I certainly will look closer at the Moss Side name.On the hunt once again thanks to the Lancashire List. <snip> Noreen
