I remember that during the Bread strike in the late 70s, Mr. Cussens a Liverpool bakery proprietor supplied us with bread and doughnuts transporting them there himself in his Jaguar Car. Collectively you have given me dates and new surnames to pursue: BUTTERWORTH and BLACKHURST. Since I live in California, it is a bit difficult for me to pursue genealogic data from the UK, especially recent births, deaths, and marriages. The children of Thomas FRANKS and his wife, Ann Ellen JEPSON, if they were still alive, are half-siblings to three living children of Thomas FRANKS and his third American-born wife. Thomas ran away to the US in 1908, He adopted the alias of Herbert Atkinson and remarried two more times, siring 10 more children. He is my grandfather.Today there are more than 60 American descendants that I know about. This secret was solved only in recent years, a long time after he was dead. Other facts I know are that George Thomas Franks died on 12 July 1934 in the Fylde area of Lancashire at the age of 29. He had a son, Peter, born in 1930. Again, thank you so much for your help. Are there any suggestions for me to research further? Donna Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Is there somewhere they are stored to be able to consult them? My family history search has led me to looking for a particular family who were in the electoral roll for a district but not listed in the phone book on line. I feel that if I had access to an older paper phone book, I could probably find the person - an address to write to..... regards Marg OLeary Port Stephens NSW :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: :-+-: Buy or sell family research items on the GEN-MAT-UKI mailing list. I am trying to locate her surviving family and her obituary. She married Thomas FRANKS at Holy Trinity Church in Blackpool on 4 June 1904. The couple had 3 children by 1907: Lilian Sharper Franks, George Thomas Franks, and Kitty Franks. Ann's husband, Thomas FRANKS, disappeared in 1908. I know where he went and how he lived the rest of his life until his death in February 1948. I am a family member descended from his "new" life.
