I have hit a dead end with the Grattons. I went to the gratton.org website, but I don't think it exists anymore. I believe Henry's father was also Henry, but I have his grandfather listed as Charles. I have also found a Thomas Gratton that would fit. Can anyone confirm? Also need a maiden name for Hannah (Charles / Thomas' wife). We're in Australia and am happy to share any info we have. These names are certainly familiar - I remember dad having Auntie May, & Auntie Annie, & Auntie Dorothy. (Evelyn Doris - my late gran - is obviously just shown as Doris) , It looks like I may have picked up the wrong John Evans for her father & that's where I went wrong - I have his DOB as 1875, so in 1911 he would only be 36, & your is 49. How can I be sure its the right one ? How did you track that please ? Was it a Census ? I thought I knew how to use this system - obviously not :-(, Love your advice please ? Alan Grey is my Great Uncle who died in 1998, he was married to Bernice who I believe is still living. They both lived in Manchester in the Whitefield area. In 1952 they both attended the wedding of Alan's sister Marie. Marie past away in 2012. There was a family split that resulted in no contact with Alan. In Marie's wedding book there is a signature of Bernice and I believe the page that Alan signed has been ripped out. I am trying to contact Bernice or anyone else as Bernice may be the only surviving person who attended the wedding. there are some questions which she may know the answer to regarding Anne Grey and Bernard Grey(Alan's siblings) If anyone knows them please message me here.
