I have her parents as James Swarbrick and Jane Shaw, his parents as James Swarbrick and Elizabeth Morley, his parents as Thomas Swarbrick and Ann Hull, his parents as James Swarbrick and Mary Postlethwaite, that James being born in 1747. Any further information you may have would be most welcome. I did not have much information from within our family, since Sarah died when my grandfather was only about 5 years old, so he never really knew his mother. He died when I was only about 8 years old so I never had much chance to ask him. I never even knew her maiden name was Swarbrick until I started gathering ancestry information and looked through Parish records at Barrow-in-Furness in 2011. I believe she was living in Flookburgh at the time of her death, I looked for a headstone in the cemetery there, but couldn't find anything. I have quite a bit of information about my Worthen family, but have been attempting to find information about the Whiteheads lately. I'm fairly sure the Jane Whitehead listed on the 1841 census above was very possibly a sister to my gg-grandmother Ellen (Whitehead) Worthen Maddocks. On the marriage record for my great grandmother Mary Ellen Worthen (she is mistakenly listed as Maddocks on the 1871 census) to Richard Davies, one of the witnesses listed is a Jane Huxley. When I found that out I researched and found the information about Jane, her husband and children. I'm fairly sure that the Thomas Whitehead on the 1841 census is my Thomas Whitehead, but I've not been able to find out much else about him. Thanks again for your help and information, Susan Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Joseph probably born ca 1764. (died 1808, aged 44) So possibly 28 at date of marriage. It seems his wife Elizabeth (nee Stones) may have remarried two years after his death. Lancashire OPC has six births to Joseph and Elizabeth between 1793 and about 1804, and it seems that Joseph born 1797 was the only one who survived infancy. There is a Betty Jackson born ca 1770 in Lancashire who is living with daughter May born ca 1826 in Lancashire, who appears in the 1841 England census in Queen Street, Warrington, which might be one possibility to look at further. Joseph's surname was spelled Arouricks when he married Elizabeth Gregory 10 April 1850 in Saint Michael, Stone, Staffordshire. Name: Joseph Arouricks Gender: Male Marriage Date: 10 Apr 1850 Marriage Place: Saint Michael,Stone,Stafford,England Spouse: Elizabeth Gregory However, FreeBMD has this listing as Aronicks: Marriages Jun 1850 Aronicks Joseph Stone 17 269 In the 1851 census where he is living with Elizabeth in Milwich, his surname has been transcribed Airowickse in one transcription, and Arrowicks in another transcription. Elizabeth is listed as being born in Eccleshall, Staffordshire, in 1799. They were living at Garshall Green in Milwich, Stone, Staffordshire. It is a bit odd that in the 1871 census, he is listed with wife Elizabeth aged 33, although it seems he had married Caroline Phillips in Stone in December 1861. I don't see the family after 1871, except for Eliza. Kind regards, Rosemary Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
