I have added the information you have supplied and yes it has confused me with the Mary Park. I am currently not at home until Thursday where I can look at the Birth and Marriage certificates i have for Margaret Benson. I dont know where you have found your information or where your from but it is very much appreciated. I have worldwide accounts for ancestry and FMP, but i struggle with a few other sites. Too confusing, although I do think that FMP has changed for the worse. It makes sense that Thomas and the Mary wedding would align with the Children, but i am unsure how Agnes and Mary fit in until i see what certs i have. ( I have put Agnes in there for some reason :-) ?!?!? Thanks once again Kind regards Gary Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: chat1 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.england.lan.general/52669.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi Gary - I also cannot find those Marriages that you are seeking but it may help a little to know that Margaret had at least 3 older Siblings whose mother was Agnes Park namely:- William b.1845 Kirkham; Jane b.1848 Kirkham and Ellen b.1849 Ancoats. That in itself may suggest that Agnes could have easily been married previously - being 30y when William was born - and therefore may have married Thomas under a different surname. Also although I cannot find Thomas on the earlier censuses there is a Thomas Benson on the 1881 Census being then a 67 yrs.old Widower born in Greenhough, Kirkham , Preston - as were his two older children to Agnes !!! best of luck, regards Graham C. Caritas Diocese of Salford should be your first point of contact for Holly Mount, Tottington and if they are unable to help they should be able to suggest an alternative contact - IF it knows the records exist. For Blackbrook House, which is in the Archdiocese of Liverpool, the point of contact is Nugent Care at Nugent Care 99 Edge Lane Liverpool L7 2PE Its web site (http://www.nugentcare.org/domestic-adoption/adoption-support/ ) has some mention of post adoption support for those adopted and their families, and there are contact details for Nugent Care which should be able to help. Yes, I do believe that Thomas Walsh was living with his sister, Margery Thomason. I did manage to find that bit of information in the 1881 census. It appears that the sons of Thomas Walsh must have taken over his farm as they are named as executors in a probate document. If you do have any other information, please do send it my way. Have a look at the John and Mary Smith family in Howard Street, Liverpool, in the 1871 census. John Smith, 44, born Carlingford, Ireland abt 1827 Mary Smith, 39, born Ballina Ireland abt 1832 James Smith, 18, born Liverpool 1853 Hannah Smith, 12, born Liverpool 1859 John R. Smith, 6, born Liverpool 1865 Bridget McNulty, 30, sister in law, born Ballina Ireland 1841 Richard McNulty, 24, brother in law, born Ballina Ireland 1847 Anne McNulty, 22, sister in law, born Ballin Ireland 1849 This family also is in Howard Street in the 1861 census but the transcription is a bit muddled, I think. Hannah Smith is aged 3, born Liverpool 1858. I think that this is the McNulty household (misspelled McKolty). John Smith is listed as son in law, Mary Smith as daughter, and then James, Hannah and Kate as the children of John and Mary. All the McNultys, and John and Mary Smith, are listed as being born in Ireland. Household Members: Name Age Margt McKolty 26 Bridget McKolty 22 James McKolty 18 Ann McKolty 16 Richard McKolty 15 John Smith 35 Mary Smith 31 James Smith 8 Hannah Smith 3 Kate Smith 7/12 Looks like Joseph and Hannah Ryan had quite a large family.
