She is related through Henry's daughter Mary Isabella. She found her living on the census and then found her father Henry, and then mother Ann and searched for their marriage. Henry's middle name was stated as William and he was in the army. Then she searched the army records on findmypast.co.uk which tie in with the census to show he was born 1819-1821 in St Mary's, Lancaster. They have a date for the marriage of Henry William Raymond and Anna Maria Lennon of 29 Sep 1845 in County Cork. No father's details which makes me wonder if they have the marriage certificate or not. Also date of birth for Dublin born Mary Isabella Raymond as 19 Apr 1863. They may have that birth certificate. They don't have Henry William Raymond's origins or parentage, they just say born in Cumberland or Lancashire. Baptism records may not be online for wherever he was from. Their children included Brenda Jackson 1912, James Blease Jackson 1917, May Jackson 1919, Nellie Jackson 1922 and my mother Joyce Jackson 1930, some of whom lived in Gilbert Street up to its demolition in the late 1970's. Other members of the family lived in Highbank Drive. I believe their were other children, definitely William (Willy) and possibly Thomas (Tom). I've had some success with my fathers side of the family, the Stanford's from the Woolton area, but am struggling with the Jackson's in the period between living relatives and the 1911 census. I believe their mothers maiden name was Wyke and their could possibly be the name Blease but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance for any help. I am a decendent of William Bentley, the third to youngest child of John and Elizabeth Middlefell Bentley. I found the baptism record (Bishop's Record) of John and was disappointed because it only said "John, son of Hannah Bentley with the baptism date of 3 Feb 1811. There is also a Frederick Bentley listed as a child of (Edward and) Hannah Bentley (Johns parents) who passed away at the age of 22 in Rivington, Lanchashire, England. rivington is not far from Salford/Manchester so it is possible that he is 'our' Frederick. He was born in 1812 and died 18 Dec 1838 I have been unable to find a baptismal record for Frederick, but will continue to fine the information to connect Edward, Hannah, Frederick and John.. I was told that the Lancashire area was booming at the turn of the century, so it's possible that Edward and Hannah moved to Salford from somewhere else and we are looking in the wrong place. It sure gets confusing, doesn't it? I have the 1977 Bentley Book as well, but if you have information other than what is in the book or what I have found, would you be willing to share? To get to my ancestor born 1806, I needed to know my grandfather's details, to get his parents details, etc and this involved searching parish registers and buying birth and marriage certificates. I don't think 'probably married Ann Lennon' helps your friend's research unless there is a reliable trail maybe from family information. Does that make sense? :-) Sue Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
