Hi Barry, Looking at the 1851 census (HO107/2224 f 0 p 0), residing at the Public Institution Barracks, is a William MOULSDALE, 25, unmarried, Private, Liverpool, Lancs. I suspect that, if he is the son of the William and Ann of Droylsden, he may have been working near Liverpool when he enlisted, but was actually born near Manchester (perhaps, Newton Heath?). This census page is a transcription from the water-damaged 1851 census (also available should you so desire). hth David
Hi Barry, I couldn't find William and Ann in the 1841, but in 1851 (HO107/2234 f 16 p 25), living at Fire Fold, Droylsden, there is a William MASDALE, 61, Farmer, Warmagem(?), Cheshire, his wife, Ann, 58(?), Newton Heath, three sons, James, 22, Fustian dyer, Droylsden, Samuel, 20, Farmers son, Droylsden, Joseph, 18, Farmers son, Droylsden, one grandson, Henry, 15, Power loom weaver, Droylsden and Mary FLIN,servant, 30, Droylsden. Drop me a line at dvdwmore(at)telus.net and I'll send both (actually 2 for 1841 and one 1851) of these census pages soonest. hth David

Hi, Could anyone please help by locating, in the 1841 Census, William Moulsdale b:1825 in West Derby and his family. Thanks, Barry
I also have Heyes from Lancashire in my family tree. John Heyes and Mary Baron were both born in Wigan around 1811. They had the following children: Ann (b. 1836 in Stockport, Cheshire), William (b. 1828 in Stockport), Elizabeth (b. 1846 in Salford), John (b. 1850 in Openshaw) and Theresa (b. 1853 in Staleybridge). John, Elizabeth, and Theresa immigrated to Fall River, MA in the 1870's while Ann and William stayed in England. I have a lot of information about all the family members so please let me know if you see a connection. Ann

It connects Faulkner Street (which turns into Smithdown Lane) at the north of the map, and Upper Parliament Street to the south. There are a number of small, named areas, 'Burne's/Burke's Place', 'Albert Place', 'Victoria Place', 'Queens Court', ('?'), ('?'), 'Ann (Court?)' , 'Foundry Terrace', 'Cambridge Court', 'Foundry Place', 'Railway C?', 'Cumberland Court', 'Ellen's Pl'; However there are none obviously named 'Harding Close'; This map is from an 1848 survey. If you search on Google Maps for 'Aigburth Street, Liverpool, UK', it will show you the modern day detail. I will leave it to others to review how this may be of use to you.
