I haven't done any research for more than 10 years now, but I do have quite a bit of information on the Steele/Bagot line, starting with Matthew 1799-1860. If you let me know which branch of the family you are interested in I will take a look and see what I have. My husband is the great grandson of Matthew. Which Steele are you descended from? I no longer subscribe to this forum, and am here as a guest so I don't know how long that will last. I would like to continue this by email if you would let me know your email address. 3. ""This was my last message: According to FreeBMD Rose L BRUCKSHAW married Joseph R WOOLLEY at Chorlton in the December quarter of 1922. This may be the Cathedral but the record is not shown in LancsBMD. I already have Rose Lily (Lilian?) HAZARD married to Rowland BRUCKSHAW in 1907 at All Souls, Ancoats, Manchester. However Rowland is not with his wife in 1911 and I have not found him in that census but they are both in the same grave in Southern Cemetery (he died in 1938). Can anyone access the details of the 1922 marriage please? Many thanks"" Someone has now kindly sent me the PR for this 1922 marriage. The bride is certainly the one in the 1907 marraige and she is now a widow but I have not found a death for Rowland, her first husband other than 1938 (GRO, FREEBMD and Manchester cemetery burials). The names are all quite distinctive so there is little chance of transcription confusion. Thanks for reading this. Any suggestions please? Eric Millward ----- No virus found in this message. I have found her on 1851 Preston census age 21. She is shown as the head with only a 14 year old brother living with her, named Robert Wallbank. Looking further back in Preston census for 1841 I think I have found her as a child with her family. Father is John Wallbank b. 1806 and Mary her mother also born 1806. Her other siblings are Ann and Thomas Wallbank. By 1852 Alice has a child, no fathers name is given. The child is called John Thomas Wallbank.my 2x great grandfather. Census for Preston 1851 shows Alice and Robert living at 12 Holdens Yard, Saint Pauls, Preston. Any Help would be much appreciated. Info about the area or type of housing and any other links to the Wallbank line would be helpful. Thanks. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I'm the originator of the August 2002 message. I have information on the Steele and Bagot families. Most of my information is on the family and descendants of Matthew Steele born 1799 Ireland, died 1860 Liverpool. This Matthew is my husband's great grandfather. I haven't done any research for more than ten years now, having hit the proverbial brick wall. Let me know which line of the Steeles you are interested in and I'll see if I have anything relevant. We are both originally from England but now live in Canada. I would prefer to correspond by email rather than the forum.
