    3. Sue, I have done the same thing and did inform others that the couple in the photo could be one of three possibilities, including the supposed couple that I thought it was. Then it's up to them to alter the information if they so desire. My Grandma Eveline Wetherall (nee Trotter) was a district midwife. I have been told that she delivered most of the babies in the area and she was very respected in the community. She rode a bike with a basket on the front (as most did!) I would love it if someone remembered her or can give me information on the life of a midwife in Lancashire at the time. 1. [LAN] Thomas Whalley born Croston Help please
    2. Julie Dalton
    3. I am helping a friend with his family tree. Lancs Online Parish records shows that on 19th October 1845 his GG Grandfather Thomas Whaley/Whalley married Ann Higham in Eccleston. Thomas's father is shown as George. According to the census records Thomas was born 1823 Croston. I found a birth of a Thomas born 1823 in Croston and his mother was shown as Betty, it would seem she was a single mother. I have been unable to fins a Thomas born c1823 with a father George. Can anyone help please? regards Julie
