    3. HI Everyone!!!! Just wanted to let everyone know that I am back in Nashville after a wonderful week visit in Natchitoches!!!! Sure wished I was there instead of here!!!!! I made copies of everything I could while I was there and visited cemeteries from Natchitoches all the way down the river to Lena!!!! There is just so much history there and I was so sad by the fact that there are so many graves that are lost to us as they were unmarked. Many of the graves were marked with iron crosses and there was just no way to read them and then some of the slabs over the graves are now unreadable due to age. Danelli Faccone drove and her mother in law Tootsie Faccone directed us to all the cemeteries. We didn't come across the first snake, but found plenty of fire ants..............I managed to get only one bite while cleaning a mound away from a headstone. That was only because I had to short a stick and those little things move fast!!!!!!! Kay and I will be typing up copies of newspaper items that I brought back and we will put them on the mailing list before I get them on the archives. Glenda, I have the Wise Cemtery, Oak Grove and Choctow Island Cemetery for sure that I will be getting done. I have another small one at Cloutierville.....it is a Baptist Cemetery but I can't remember the name of it right now. I have it on tape and will have to listen to the tape to get the name. A new subscriber to the mailing list.......Danille Weaver Faccone.....has Weaver Cemetery and I think Pleasant Hill..........Danille you will have to send a message to the mailing list and let us know which cemteries you have copied or in the process of doing in Natchitoches Parish................you know how my mind is!!!!!!! Danille and I spent the day in the Natchitoches Genelogical Society all day on Thursday and went through old Natchitoches Times getting articles that will be of great help for others to find information about their relatives. We started out sitting at a table and before the day was over we were in the middle of the floor! It was hard even wanting to take a break for lunch...........but our stomachs finally got the best of us and we finally had to go!!!!! The ladies there are so helpful and they have so much information on Natchitoches Parish and the families. I would highly reccommed that anyone that goes to Natchitoches to do research to visit them. The people there have worked very hard to preserve Natchitoches History. I have somethings...........like a ton of emails to get caught up on and then I will start typing what I have here at the house. Kay came over and I sent her home with a stack of items that she is going to get started on today after work!!!! My thanks to everyone who has submitted family information for the archives...........Let's make Natchitoches Parish grow and hopefully help someone find their relatives and help you find more "cousins".
