    3. Oak Grove News Source: Natchitoches Parish Times March 25, 1921 Submitted By: Kay Thompson - Brown 250 Dupont Ave Madison, TN 37115 Our school is progressing nicely with splendid attendance, though it is time to begin farming. Misses Hazel and Cleve Ella Evans of Creston spent Sunday with their sister, Mrs. L. Weaver. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Wheeler and family spent Saturday in Chestnut shopping. Mrs. M. L. Tatum and Miss Euln Pullin took a horseback ride to Chestnut last Wednesday. We are very glad to see the men busy working on the roads while we are having ideal spring weather. Miss Eula Pullin spent last week-end with home folds at Chestnut. An interesting ball game was tho one played on Chestnut court Saturday, March 19th between Reidhimer and our boys. All the boys played a good game but it could be seen that Rushing was the "star" goal shooter for Oak Grove and Wayland for Reidhimer. The final score was 8 to 6 in favor of Reidhimer. Play up Oak Grove boys for this is your first year to play ball. The following poem was composed by one of our seventh grade girls, Annie Bell Price: EASTER DAY Before this beautiful Easter morn, The farmers have planted their crops of corn, The trees are blooming, the leaves peeping green, Never a more beautiful morn was seen. All the birds are singing their songs so sweet, As if they had come Easter Day to greet, The streams are flowing gaily along Softly singing their sweet Easter songs. The timid rabbits are hopping about, Like a crowd of school boys when turned out. The children are playing egg hunt in the grass, And they stand up straight to feel the breeze pass. I have just one word more to say, I wish you all, a Happy Easter Day.
