    3. Friends, My Natchitoches connection is on my HARTMAN line: Gr gr gr grandfather was John P. HARTMAN, son of F. M. HARTMAN and Mary DORRATY. According to his 1872 Lafourche Parish marriage certificate, he was born in Natchitoches, La. He married Julia C. BOUDREAUX. Seeing that he married in 1872, I would figure that he must have been born around 1840-1855. Other Louisiana surnames I am researching include: GORDY (St. Mary, Vermillion and Orleans Parishes, Maryland, Ireland); BOUDREAUX (Lafourche and Terrebonne Parishes, Canada); BUNIFF (St. Mary Parish); ANDERSON (Orleans Parish and New York State); DUPRE and THERIOT (Lafourche and Terrebonne Parishes); SIMPSON (Orleans Parish) and CARR (Orleans Parish, Ireland). Other surnames include: LOTT (Mississippi); and HOGG (Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina, Scotland). Am particularly interested in running down a genealogy of Senator Trent LOTT, because he comes out of the same part of Mississippi that my LOTT family comes out of. If it turns out that we are related, and in the future he runs for and wins the Presidency, then it will be the second U. S. President that I will be related to. (I have already documented my relationship to President Jimmy Carter - his mother was a GORDY before marriage.) BTW, I am a NSU alumni, class of 82. -- Colleen
