    3. NARROW ESCAPE FROM DROWNING The Natchitoches Times May 01, 1903 While out hunting on Black Lake last week Messrs. P. C. Rogers and Morris Aaron came near meeting with a fatal accident. When a mile from shore the boat began to leak and fill rapidly. Fortunately a tree was near, which they reached just as the boat sank. They climbed in the tree where they remained till their cries brought help from the camp. Which one was more eager to climb in the tree or who called the louder it is hard to decide.
