Can anyone advise if the Glasgow Herald newspaper is available to search online after the 1900 time period. I do have access to this newspaper up to this time frame, but it is later after then this that I need access. I have no issue with subscribing to a site to pay for my searches if they are available. As I live in Australia, I am unable to access the NL index to see if a death notice does appear for the people I am looking for. I have a feeling there should be a death notice at least for my G Grandparents, as memorial cards edged in black were sent to family in NZ advising of the deaths. These are not in my possession, I only know about them and would like to be able to view/obtain a number of death notices. Do I need to obtain the services of a researcher to look this up for me. Would love to be able to do it myself. thanks in advance Ailsa Corlett [email protected] http://www.st.net.au/~ailsa
Hi Ailsa The BL newspapers on findmypast get 16,000 plus hits post 1900 but I am unsure if they are references to it found in other papers, as the list of papers shows the Glasgow Herald to 1900, however they have just added more but the findmypast.co.uk newspaper search has been out of action for a few days There is a run on googlebooks See <http://scottishancestry.blogspot.co.uk/2010/10/glasgow-herald-1806-1990-online-at.html> And <http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=GGgVawPscysC&dat=19140810&b_mode=2> Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 02/09/2013 10:27, Ailsa Corlett wrote: > Can anyone advise if the Glasgow Herald newspaper is available to search > online after the 1900 time period.
