Hi Francis Kemp and Jessie Duncan married in Aberdeenshire in 1843 and had Ann in 1844, Margaret in 1847 and John in 1853 ...according to the IGI. In the 1861 census there are TWO Jessie Kemps in Old Machar Aberdeen. The first is the one who has a son John born about 1855 fathered by a Mr McDonald and is probably the one whose marriage certificate you've found. The second John Kemp is the one whose father is Francis Kemp and mother is Jessie Duncan.
