Thanks to Marg and Irene for replies. The year on scotlandspeople is not a problem but the actual date. Eg. on the NZBDM web site, I can select the year then via adjusting the months and then the days narrow it down to the exact date the event occured. They allow searches via date/ month/ year which scotlandspeople does not unfortunately. Irene, a wishful thought I think. we are lucky that the Glasgow Herald is actually online and I can search via year and date when I have the actually date, it is knowing the year but not the actual date that is my issue and frustration. there must be a way in which to search the newspaper for names only in the year selected, but this is what I do not know how to do.
