    3. Jo-Ann Have you thought about contacting the Lanarkshire Family History Society? ( http://www.lanarkshirefhs.org.uk). I am sure someone there will be interested in finding out something about the background to this 'local hero'. If there was not much money in the family he was probably buried in an unmarked grave, maybe in Glasgow where he died. Perhaps the best hope is that something appeared in a contemporary Scottish newspaper at the time of his death. If there are no recorded MIs, where could lair information be obtained? I have a Hugh LOGAN who died 22 Nov 1903 who was most likely buried there. Although he died in Glasgow, his family was from Lanark going back several generations and he was listed as a resident there on both the 1891 and 1901 census records. I am trying to find his grave as he is a United States Medal of Honor recipient whose grave has never been located.
