Rhoda, It is not that those websites are incorrect in that they are copying the information given in a US government publication. The problem is that the publication is wrong. Hugh Logan's original enlistment record states his birthplace is Scotland. All other records that required a statement of place of birth give Scotland. His birth is in the Lanark Parish records. As usual with government's, trying to find a person who has the authority to make the correction and cares enough to do it is not easy. It might never be corrected. But meanwhile, as my last post stated, Hugh's burial place has been located. Thank you for your help.
