Jo-ann, I have information about a Logan family from Lanark parish having five male children born between 1788 and 1803. Their male lineage goes back to 1691 in Lanark. There are no Hughs in the family but one of them may be the father of Hugh. Fraser, Here are transcriptions of the death registrations of Hugh and of his father Hugh (whose father was also named Hugh according to the informant). As you can see, the name Hugh continues back, so while your LOGANs are probably connected, it is not a direct connection. I found Hugh jr's birth of 23 Nov 1833 in Lanark and those of several siblings, but nothing further back. 1903 Deaths, District of Anderston in the Burg of Glasgow Page 194 #580 Hugh LOGAN, seaman (merchant service), single Died: 22 Nov 1903, 3 K??t Street, Glasgow Age: 67 years Parents: Hugh LOGAN, quarryman (deceased) & Janet Logan m.s.
