Hello Maisie: Your "Clootie Dumpling" submission rekindled memories of my growing up in Scotland, although I have to admit that they weren't all of glowing nature. To put it mildly, the skin on the "Clootie" made me boak [From Middle English bolken (“to vomit, overflow”)]. However, I just scraped off the floury white skin and enjoyed the core of the dumpling, including the hunt for the threepenny bits. The Lanark List wouldn't be the same without you Maisie!
