Thank you Charles. I had found in digging my notes that Thomas was indeed Elizabeth's brother. But I have never seen this information before. Thank you for sending it. Robert MacKay and Sarah Jane or Jeanne Lindsay MacKay are the parents of Thomas and Elizabeth MacKay. There are in deed from Ireland, perhaps being born in Naghill, County Monahan area of Ireland. Prior to coming to Cambusnethan I think about the 1847-1850 time frame. As the family is there for the 1851 census. So I changed up the Subject line a little to include the additional surnames which now seem to connect to my Elizabeth MacKay Brown and her brother Thomas MacKay whom married Mary Smith whose mother was a Ballantyne.
