Dear list members, I am just starting to investigate another Scots branch in my tree, and am wondering if anyone here is searching McMunn and/or Wharrie lines in Lanark. Mary McMunn married James Steel Wharrie on January 1, 1900 at 6a Gateside Street, Hamilton, Lanark. James Steel Wharrie was born 27 March, 1874, Lesmahagow. These are my great-grandparents. Mary McMunn's father was James McMunn, a coal miner (pithead man?); her mother was Agnes Simpson. I have a copy of a family photo of James McMunn, his wife Agnes Simpson and their children, most likely taken in the mid -1880s. I have made some progress with the Wharrie line, but have yet to discover more about my Steels, McMunns and Simpsons. Thank you for listening.
