    1. [Lanark] Introducing me and Macdonalds in Airdrie.
    2. Alastair Macdonald
    3. Hello all you Lanarkadians. My name is Archibald Alastair Macdonald and I have only recently begun my "family tree" adventure. I was born in Airdrie in 1941 but was aware that my family had originated in the outer isles. I discovered that they had migrated from Stornoway to the original "banks of Clyde" and were later "re-settled" in the Monkland area (for then this appeared to mean Airdrie or Coatbridge). Since then, it would appear that all my relatives have been born, grew up, married, reproduced and (in many cases) died and were buried in either "Old" or New" Monkland cemetery. Except me who managed to escape the local orbit and descend upon a new planet called Australia. In conclusion; would it be true to say that almost the entire population of Airdrie and Coatbridge have Macdonald as a surname? Any comments from the locally well-connected? Alastair Macdonald Brisbane, Australia.
