    3. I was never in the armed forces so I never learned to follow rules and regulations without question. When someone tells me to do something I like them to explain WHY I have to do it. The reason is probably not to use up storage space in the Archives etc. with unnecessary duplication. Maybe if you would explain to everyone why we need to follow the rules that you posted, everyone would understand why they are necessary. 3. Frank, All three of the specific things mentioned (and many others not mentioned) are very commonly accepted practices on every RootsWeb list, and are part of something rather generically referred to as "list netiquette." Now, whether all lists in fact have the problems to the degree that we do here is another question, but on that note as I have already mentioned, with a list as busy and large as this one the problem is compounded by the sheer number of posts and quickly filling up the archives as you yourself mentioned. I believe I DID explain that, but I hope this answers the question. Now, please let this be the last discussion on the matter on the list, because it really is not a matter for discussion. As with all things, rules are made for the overall good of all, or in this case for the good of the list itself, and I thank one and all for your cooperation in this regard. David E.
