As an aside, my darling cousin (who died in England in 1997) was adamant about her ashes being returned to Scottish soil - and they were. Hi Jeanette The offer is still open, I have access to deaths registration indexes from 1837 to 2005 The later registrations usually record the birthdate hence my mention of it A death should always be registered where is occurs, not where they live or originate , burial of course is a different matter Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Thanks to you all for your help.     3. Thank you, Nivard. The name is Elizabeth (Galloway) Maxwell d. 18 Oct 1997. She was in hospital, but home address was Maidenhead, Berks. It may have been a cancer hospital, but I don't know where it was located.
