There are several different places in Scotland named Braco or similar. The one in Perthshire is the best known. It is the largest village in the quoad sacra parish of Ardoch, which is, as you say in the parish of Muthill, and Braco Castle is a mile or so north-west of the village. The Braco in my tree is in the parish of Shotts. There are two farms still on the map: Nether Bracco and Wester Bracco, south of Hillend Reservoir a few miles east of Airdrie. There are others: one in Angus, in the parish of Lethnot and Navar; one a few miles west of Uplawmoor in what is now called East Renfrewshire; three different ones in Aberdeenshire; one in the parish of Grange in Banffshire; and one a few miles west of Dumfries. There are also variations like Bracobrae and Bracorina, and there may well be, or have been, other ones which no longer exist. HTH Anne
