I, too, have ancestors who were from Braco - one bunch who ended up in Orkney, and others who were in Paisley area. I had assumed that this Braco was further north. For the part of my family who were in Paisley area, census records from 1851 to 1881 show the birthplace to have been "Braco, Perths" or "Muthill, Perths". I know that in the parish of Muthill there is a Braco and a Braco Castle, and from these references I'm quite certain that that is where my GGgma came from. I'm confident that I have found her family there. But what about this Braco in Shotts? Can anyone give me more information?
