    3. Hi Frank., Our BDM records are organised by State or Territory..and since we have only 5 States Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia and two Territories, Northern Territory, and Australian Capital Territory, it is a lot easier than having to lots of counties..Of course if you want the name of the town, in which an event happened, then finding a second source for information can be helpful.. The Telephone Book is www.whitepages.com.au I did try the website www.ancestorsonboard.com and perhaps you may be able to work out which one of the many James Campbell's may be yours.. My research has been focused on Qld and Western Australia, then overseas, but this is what I have for you. National Archives of Australia http://naa.gov.au/collection/recordsearch/index.aspx where you will find that a James Douglas CAMPBELL was awarded the Distinquished Flying Cross... Click on the Blue Egg type icon.. I wonder if he is yours?? BDMs for Qld.. is https://www.bdm.qld.gov.au/IndexSearch/BirIndexQry.m New South Wales incl ACT http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/familyHistory/search.htm Victoria https://online.justice.vic.gov.au/bdm/index-search?action=getHistIdxSearchCriteria Western Australia http://www.bdm.dotag.wa.gov.au/_apps/pioneersindex/default.aspx?uid=9125-2873-5779-1388Immigration (there are other websites for other States)Qld is http://www.archives.qld.gov.au/research/index/immigration.aspNSW:http://www.records.nsw.gov.au/state-archives/indexes-online/indexes-to-immigration-and-shipping-records/indexes-to-immigration-and-shipping-records/I'm afraid I have no knowledge of the ship building industry. but perhapsthe newspapers online might help you. Go to advanced search, select yoursearch criteria names and dates and the newspapers of your choice..and seewhat you can find.. http://newspapers.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/search?adv=yCheersGay (nee Campbell)Research Names:http://www.perthdps.com/research/fie01.html
