Note that she is in a household with a 'strolling showman'. I think if she had been shown off for being fat rather than tall she would probably have been described as 'Exhibited fat lady'. Anne

    3. Hi Jim and Anne, There were certainly some terrible stories to come out of instances such as this. And the many who were exploited due to some unfortunate birth/growth disability. It is only now with the release of old records that we find the humiliation some people endured through their lifetime. Regards Jenny
